Inmate lookup or inmate search can be done based on doc number, Inmate’s DOB, Inmate’s last name, Inmate’s first name, prisoner’s gender. The inmate search result returns a plethora of inmate information such as inmate’s name, race, description, date of arrest, date of entry into prison, approximated release date, parole eligibility, bail amount (if any), mugshot, etc.
Any federal inmate incarcerated at any federal prison can be located using the Federal Inmate Search web-application maintained by the Federal Bureau of Prison. The inmate search can be performed based on the inmate number or inmate’s name with race, age, and sex. One can access this web-application.

An inmate can be searched on the basis of the location of such an inmate. The search location covers County Jails, Denver Health & Hospitals, Downtown Detention Centers, or on Probation or Parole.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s department runs and maintains the inmate search or locator web application. Under this application, one can search inmate in custody records including arrest records of any inmate on the basis of the last name.
The inmate search result contains details such as inmate’s name, date of birth, MNI number, detainee’s booking number, detainee’s arrest date and time, arresting law enforcement agency, details of any vehicle involved, charges, the court in which such charges are heard, name of the judge, tenure of the sentence, case status, approximate release date.

How to Visit an Inmate or Prisoner and Visitation Rights Including Video Visitation
The Department of Correction Prison System in the state of Colorado permits physical visitation as well as visitation through video mode. A Friend or family member intending to visit any inmate or prisoner has to fill up the Colorado Inmate Visitors Application and get it approved by the authorities. Moreover, a one-time visitor may fill a special visitation application instead of the normal one. Such an application has to be mailed to the prison facility the member of the family or a friend is intending to visit. Also, in the case of a private prison, it has to be mailed Private Prison Monitoring Authority.
All the visitors need to carry their I’d card at the time of their visit and their records will be documented by the prison authorities. The Colorado DOC has a prescribed dress code, to be observed by the members intending to visit an incarcerated prisoner. The minimum time allotted for a visit is two hours.
Currently, the Colorado DOC Prison System has implemented the facility of video visitation. Families and friends can register themselves through an online web application. (?) The visitation rate is fixed at $0.40 per minute and the maximum allotted time is 10 minutes per visit. Apart from these, the Colorado Department of Corrections also has a facility for Clergy Visits, Hospital Visits, & Non-Contact Visits. Attorneys are allowed to make routine visits to meet the sentenced prisoners from Monday to Thursday, anytime between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Special Attorney visits are also allowed but it is subject to the approval of the administrative head or designee.

How to Send Money to an Incarcerated Inmate
Friends or family members can send money to their sentenced family members or friend through three modes. These are
- Online Funds Transfer Mode, either through Debit Card or Credit Card
- Over the phone funds transfer with a Debit Card or Credit Card
- In-person with cash at locations throughout the country
To facilitate electronic funds transfer of money, the Colorado Department of Corrections has entered into an agreement with three companies. These companies are

Also, there is a restriction on transferring money through money orders or cash being sent through the mail.
How to Send Packages to an Inmate in Colorado State and What can be Sent in a Package.
The Department of Corrections allows inmates to receive letters from anyone if the details of the senders are legible and the content of the letter does not contain anything relating to committing a crime. The letters should not contain any paper clips or any embellishment.
Inmates can receive photos or images. These photos must be explicit or contain any matter that is profound, sexual or promotes nudity. Photos must not contain hand gestures, gang symbols, etc.
Inmates can receive books and magazines through mail. There are specific guidelines that are to be followed. One can view all these at the Department of Correction’s website.
Other than these, no other packages are allowed to be received directly from anyone outside of prison. One can use the authorized vendors to send quarterly or holiday packages.
