How to look someone up

Read the full guide to finding someone in jail.

  1. Search the nameUse the search box at the top of this page. We copy public inmate lists for these facilities where we can.
  2. Check the sheriff's websiteLook for an inmate lookup or roster.
  3. Call the jailCall the facility with the person's full name and date of birth. Staff can usually confirm custody, charges and bail.
  4. Try again laterIf they are not listed yet, check back. Booking can take several hours.
